German noblewoman Anna Maria of Mecklenburg-Schwerin was the daughter of the Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and later the Duchess of Saxe-Weissenfels by marriage.
As a child, Anna Maria and her brothers were sent away due to war, and she was educated in Saxony, where she lived from 1629 until 1642. She married in 1647, became Duchess when her husband inherited the towns of Weissenfels and Querfurt in 1657, and bore 12 children.
