Slovene graphic artist Adriana Jadranka Maraž’s work has been exhibited extensively and earned her accolades like the Jakopič award for achievements in children’s literature (1977), the Prešeren Fund Award (1983) and Grand Prix at the Biennale in Fredrikstad (Norway) and in Frechen (Germany). According to the International Centre of Graphic Arts, “Adriana Maraž is the greatest female Slovenian printmaker and the only female representative of the “classical” Ljubljana School of Graphic Art. Her printmaking skills are deeply intimate, which she herself describes as metaphors for the passing of time.”
