Carol Serventy has had a long association with The Australian Museum. She was chairman of the Interim Steering Committee that established The Australian Museum Society (1972-1973). Carol Serventy was also a member of the Australian Museum council (1976 – 1986), and the National Photographic Index of Australian Wildlife Council. In addition to her Australian roles Carol Serventy has served on multiple international museum councils and organisations including as President of Honour of the World Federation of Friends of Museums (2000 – 2003). Outside of the Museum sector Carol Serventy has co-authored multiple books and other publications on Australian Wildlife and made significant contributions to Australian Conservation efforts often in collaboration with her husband Vincent Serventy. In 1980 she was awarded a Officer of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her services to conservation.
