MCCLELLAN, Jennifer, a Representative from Virginia; born in Petersburg, Va., December 28, 1972; graduated from Matoaca High School, Chesterfield County, Va., 1990; B.A., University of Richmond, Richmond, Va., 1994; J.D., University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va., 1997; lawyer, private practice; member of the Virginia state house of delegates, 2006-2017; member of the Virginia state senate, 2017-2023; unsuccessful candidate for nomination for Governor of Virginia in 2021; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Eighteenth Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative Aston Donald McEachin, and reelected to the succeeding Congress (February 21, 2023-present).
