La Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco ujat creó el Premio Universitario de Cuento Teutila Correa de Carter en su honor.

She is considered the first woman from Tabasco to venture into narrative.
The Juárez Autonomous University of Tabasco (UJAT) created the Teutila Correa de Carter University Short Story Prize in her honor.
