Nació en 1860 y murió en 1898 en Tlacotalpan, Veracruz. Poetisa. Desde los 15 años colaboró en revistas y periódicos. Se le conoció como “La musa de Papaloapan”. Sus poesías aparecieron en los periódicos El dictamen, El correo de sotavento, La voz de sotavento, La voz de Tlacotalpan.
Notas: En el Homenaje a…Josefa Murillo (Tlacotalpan) (1899) se reunieron por primera vez sus poemas. En 1984 la Universidad Veracruza amplió algo más esta recopilación.
She was born in 1860 and died in 1898 in Tlacotalpan, Veracruz. A poet, she began contributing to magazines and newspapers at the age of 15. She was known as “The Muse of Papaloapan.” Her poems appeared in the newspapers El Dictamen, El Correo de Sotavento, La Voz de Sotavento, and La Voz de Tlacotalpan.
Notes: Her poems were first collected in the Homage to…Josefa Murillo (Tlacotalpan) (1899). In 1984, the University of Veracruz expanded this collection somewhat.
