Investigadora, profesora e historiadora mexicana. Licenciada en Historia por la Universidad de Guanajuato ugto. Doctora en Historia por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México unam. Fue Miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores sni, nivel i; integrante del Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliográficas iib y académica correspondiente de la Real Academia Hispano Americana de Ciencias, Artes y Letras raha, en Cádiz, España. Además, se desempeñó como coordinadora y jefa del Departamento de Difusión Cultural del Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliográficas iib (unam). Sus líneas de investigación se centraron en el estudio de fuentes documentales, la historia del noreste novohispano, la bibliografía decimonónica mexicana, la hemerografía contemporánea y el desarrollo de los sistemas de información para las humanidades.
Fue coordinadora del Consejo Académico del Área de las Humanidades y las Artes caahya (unam) y profesora del seminario “Fuentes Documentales e Investigación Histórica” de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras ffyl (unam); coordinó con Miguel Ángel Castro y Vicente Quirarte el Seminario de Bibliografía Mexicana del siglo xix –del cual salieron a la luz los catálogos: Obras monográficas mexicanas del siglo xix en la Biblioteca Nacional de México: 1822-1900; Publicaciones periódicas mexicanas del siglo xix: 1822-1855 y Publicaciones periódicas mexicanas del siglo xix: 1856-1876–; coordinó también el Seminario Cantares Mexicanos y Otros Opúsculos de la bn, proyecto que editó, tradujo y estudió dicho tesoro documental.
Asimismo, fue artífice y coordinadora de la Hemeroteca Nacional Digital de México hndm y de la Biblioteca Nacional Digital de México bnd; coordinadora de la Hemeroteca Nacional hn, directora del iib (unam), Biblioteca y Hemeroteca nacionales y secretaria de los Consejos Académicos del Área de las Humanidades y las Artes. Formadora de varias generaciones, fue titular de la asignatura “Métodos de Investgación” en el Colegio de Historia de la Facutad de Filosofía y Letras (unam).
Mexican researcher, professor, and historian. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Guanajuato (UGTO) and a Doctorate in History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She was a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI), Level I; a member of the Institute of Bibliographic Research (IIB); and a corresponding member of the Royal Hispanic American Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters (RAHA) in Cádiz, Spain. She also served as coordinator and head of the Department of Cultural Outreach at the Institute of Bibliographic Research (IIB) (UNAM). Her research focuses on the study of documentary sources, the history of northeastern New Spain, 19th-century Mexican bibliography, contemporary periodicals, and the development of information systems for the humanities.
She was coordinator of the Academic Council of the Humanities and Arts Area caahya (unam) and professor of the seminar “Documentary Sources and Historical Research” of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters ffyl (unam); she coordinated with Miguel Ángel Castro and Vicente Quirarte the Seminar on Mexican Bibliography of the 19th Century – from which the catalogs came out: Mexican Monographic Works of the 19th Century in the National Library of Mexico: 1822-1900; Mexican Periodical Publications of the 19th Century: 1822-1855 and Mexican Periodical Publications of the 19th Century: 1856-1876 -; she also coordinated the Seminar Mexican Songs and Other Pamphlets of the bn, a project that she edited, translated and studied said documentary treasure.
She was also the architect and coordinator of the National Digital Newspaper Library of Mexico (hndm) and the National Digital Library of Mexico (bnd); coordinator of the National Newspaper Library (hn), director of the IIB (UNAM), National Library and Newspaper Library, and secretary of the Academic Councils of the Humanities and Arts Area. A mentor to several generations, she held the position of head of the “Research Methods” course at the History Department of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (UNAM).
