Patricia L. Brown (b. 1928) was the first female chemical engineer to graduate from Southwestern Louisiana Institute, then a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Texas, followed by some teaching roles. From 1955 onwards she was a technical information resources specialist, at Bettis Atomic Power Division Westinghouse, Texas Instruments, Battelle Memorial Institute, Baxter Laboratories and finally Stepan Company, becoming expert in data analysis, system design, reporting and publishing, computer operations and management.
