María Morton and Guillermina Castro were the next Mexican women trained as chemical engineers at the former Tacuba National School of Sciences (ENCQ), now UNAM’s Faculty of Chemistry, graduating in 1926 and 1929 respectively. Morton’s work was in the food industries and Castro’s in pharmaceuticals.
