Escritora, coreógrafa, actriz y bailarina mexicana. Creadora de los principales bailes folklóricos de Chiapas y fundadora del Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas unach. Cuentista, publicó más de en las revistas de la unach.
Fue fundadora de diversas compañías y maestra huésped en cursos de verano para chicanos en la Trinity University de San Antonio, Texas. Fue jefa del Departamento de Danza en la unach. Recorrió casi todo el país con sus danzas; viajó a Panamá y Guatemala. Trabajó en la residencia oficial de Los Pinos como maestra del grupo de danza presidencial Las Palomas. Colaboró 20 años con Amalia Hernández.
El 26 de noviembre del 2005, la unach le dedicó un homenaje por los 30 años de la fundación y trayectoria del Ballet folklórico de la universidad en el Teatro del Pueblo de la Feria Chiapas. En 2013, se le entregó un pergamino por sus 60 años dedicados al arte de la coreografía. En 2014, fue galardonada con la Medalla al Mérito Dancístico Maestro Marcelo Torreblanca en el marco del xliii Congreso Nacional de Maestros de Danza celebrado en la ciudad de Oaxaca.
Mexican writer, choreographer, actress, and dancer. Creator of the main folk dances of Chiapas and founder of the Folkloric Ballet of the Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH). A short story writer, she published more than [number missing] in UNACH magazines.
She founded several dance companies and was a guest instructor in summer courses for Chicanos at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She headed the Dance Department at UNACH (Autonomous University of Chiapas). She toured almost the entire country with her dances; she also traveled to Panama and Guatemala. She worked at the official presidential residence of Los Pinos as a teacher for the presidential dance group Las Palomas. She collaborated with Amalia Hernández for 20 years.
On November 26, 2005, the Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH) honored her with a tribute at the Teatro del Pueblo during the Chiapas Fair, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the university’s Folkloric Ballet and its long history. In 2013, she received a commemorative scroll for her 60 years dedicated to the art of choreography. In 2014, she was awarded the Maestro Marcelo Torreblanca Medal of Merit in Dance at the 43rd National Congress of Dance Teachers held in Oaxaca City.
