Verna [von Kessler Breed] fue una escritora y periodista norteamericana. Obtuvo la ciudadanía mexicana al contraer matrimonio con el médico Ignacio Millán.
Vivió en México durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, donde frecuentó los círculos de los artistas exiliados alemanes, y escribió artículos sobre el país para The Saturday Evening Post, The New Yorker, y Collier’s Weekly.
Posteriormente, decidió vivir en Europa, dividiendo su tiempo entre París y Londres.
Publicó también bajo los nombres de Verna Breed y Verna Carleton Millan.
Verna von Kessler Breed was an American writer and journalist. She obtained Mexican citizenship through her marriage to physician Ignacio Millán.
She lived in Mexico during World War II, where she frequented circles of German exile artists, and wrote articles about the country for The Saturday Evening Post, The New Yorker, and Collier’s Weekly.
Later, she decided to live in Europe, dividing her time between Paris and London.
She also published under the names Verna Breed and Verna Carleton Millan.
