The description for Zarna Garg’s bestselling 2025 memoir, This American Woman: A One-In-A-Billion Memoir, ends by saying “Zarna’s mantra becomes a call to action: It’s never too late. If Zarna can do it, you can, too.”
Born in 1975, Garg first performed at an open mic in 2018 after sixteen years as a stay-at-home mom. Her star rose quickly, including winning Kevin Hart’s comedy competition, Lyft Comics, in 2021.
Branding herself as the “Funny Brown Mom”, Garg’s first comedy special, One in a Billion, premiered in 2023, and she went on to tour with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey as their opening act. Along with her memoir, 2025 also saw the release of her second special, Practical People Win and her acting debut in the romantic comedy A Nice Indian Boy.
