Poeta mexicana. Licenciada en Educación Primaria por la Escuela Normal Superior Javier Rojo Gómez. Formó parte del taller literario Syan Caan, coordinado por el poeta Ramón Iván Suárez Caamal.
Obtuvo mención honorífica en el Concurso de Hai-kús Eraclio Zepeda 1991) y segundo lugar en el mismo certamen 1992; mención honorífica en el Concurso Estatal de Poesía Ramón Iván Suárez Caamal 1995; segundo lugar en el Concurso Cancún 25 Años 1995; primer lugar en el concurso convocado por el Centro de Estudios de Bachillerato de Bacalar 1996; y primer lugar en los vii Juegos Florales de Isla Mujeres 1998. Fue becaria del Programa de Estímulo a la Creación y Desarrollo Artístico pecda 2001 y 2003.
Autora de tres poemarios, obra suya forma parte de siete antologías. Publicó en las revistas Tierra Adentro, Tropo a la uña, A duras páginas, Resumen de olas, Sonarte y Genali. Participó en el xiv Encuentro Nacional de Jóvenes Escritores 1994.
Tras su muerte, se han efectuado diversos homenajes para honrar su memoria, entre ellos asignar su nombre a una escuela primaria en Playa del Carmen y en junio de 2014, se llevó a cabo una exposición fotográfica de Yenny Gaona titulada Tsunamis inconclusos.
Mexican poet. Holds a degree in Primary Education from the Javier Rojo Gómez Higher Normal School. She was part of the Syan Caan literary workshop, coordinated by the poet Ramón Iván Suárez Caamal.
She received an honorable mention in the Eraclio Zepeda Haiku Contest (1991) and second place in the same contest in 1992; an honorable mention in the Ramón Iván Suárez Caamal State Poetry Contest (1995); second place in the Cancún 25 Years Contest (1995); first place in the contest convened by the Bacalar High School Studies Center (1996); and first place in the VII Floral Games of Isla Mujeres (1998). She was a scholarship recipient of the Program for the Promotion of Artistic Creation and Development (PECDA) in 2001 and 2003.
Author of three poetry collections, her work appears in seven anthologies. She has published in the magazines Tierra Adentro, Tropo a la uña, A duras páginas, Resumen de olas, Sonarte, and Genali. She participated in the 14th National Meeting of Young Writers in 1994.
Following her death, various tributes have been made to honor her memory, including naming a primary school in Playa del Carmen after her, and in June 2014, a photographic exhibition by Yenny Gaona entitled Unfinished Tsunamis was held.
