This Day in History: 1906-05-22

The Wright brothers are granted U.S. patent number 821,393 for their “Flying-Machine”. Their work would not have been possible without the support of their sister, Katharine Wright, who was also a suffragist. The French recognized her contributions and awarded the French Legion of Honor to all three Wright siblings.
