Agnes Bankier is a geneticist whose clinical practice was in a number of Melbourne hospitals and health services. She has headed several genetics services units including Victorian Clinical Genetic Services and at the Monash Medical Centre. Bankier has been active in policy and ethics advisory committees for government and professional organisations, and served as President of the Human Genetic Society of Australasia. Her published output is over 100 papers and book chapters.
