Anne-Marie Adiaffi was an Ivorian writer born on 21 March 1951 in Abengourou, Côte d’Ivoire. She studied in Côte d’Ivoire before moving to Marseille and then Dakar to complete tertiary studies. After this she worked as a secretary in a bank, before commencing work in 1983 with the publisher Nouvelles Editions Africaines in Abidjan. Her first novel, “Une Vie Hypotéquée” achieved critical success, but she was accused of plagiarism and name usurpation. However, she released a second novel “La Ligne Brisée” in 1989, and had a third work in progress when she died in 1994.
