Anne of Bavaria was a Princess of the Palatinate and Countess Palatine of Simmern by birth, Princesse of Arches and Charleville in her own right from 1708, as well as Duchess of Enghien and honorary Princess of Condé as the wife of Henri Jules de Bourbon. She bore ten children, only five of whom survived to adulthood. Anne was described as a very kind, generous and pious woman who supported her through mental health issues that made him violently abusive. She lived to the age of 74, outliving her husband and all but two of her children.
