Anne Street was a mathematician specialising in combinatorical designs, binary arrays and Ramsey theory who held positions at universities, both within Australia and abroad, from 1953. She became Professor of Mathematics at the University of Queensland in 1985 and headed the University’s Centre for Combinatorics (later the Centre for Discrete Mathematics and Computing). Street was active in professional organisations including the Australian Mathematics Trust and as a founding member and President of the Combinatorial Mathematics Society of Australasia. The Australian Mathematical Society awards the Anne Penfold Street Award.
