Anne Hollingsworth Wharton, an American writer, a founder and the first historian of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America. She has written a number of entertaining and instructive books, her favorite subjects being those of Colonial and Revolutionary times.
In 1893 she was appointed a judge at the Chicago World’s Fair, and she is an honorary member of the Pennsylvania Historical Society. Her works include: St. Bartholomew’s Eve, Colonial Days and Dames, Life of Martha Washington, Social Life in the Early Republic, and English Ancestral Homes of Noted Americans.
