The following is excerpted from Infinite Women creator Allison Tyra’s book Uncredited: Women’s Overlooked, Misattributed, and Stolen Work.

It took a legal battle to get bestselling author Dan Brown to publicly acknowledge his wife, Blythe’s, significant contributions to his success. In 2006, when Brown was sued for allegedly stealing ideas for The Da Vinci Code, The Guardian described Blythe Brown’s efforts, digging through complex reference materials, marking up important sections and scouring the Internet for information to help create a compelling story. Blythe herself later sued her subsequently ex-husband over a variety of allegations. While most of these were personal, she did claim credit for inspiring much of his work, including coming up with the premise for The Da Vinci Code.
