Nació en Villahermosa, Tabasco, el 14 de enero de 1904; muere en la Ciudad de México, el 1º de agosto de 1990. Narradora y poeta. Radicó en Cuba de 1936 a 1960. Estudió en la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Fue conductora del programa “La Novela al Aire”, para el que hizo adaptaciones de novelas clásicas, románticas y populares; reportera de El Universal y Excélsior. Miembro del Ateneo Mexicano de Mujeres. Como actriz perteneció a la compañía de Virginia Fábregas y María Tereza Montoya. Colaboró en Novedades y Revista de Revistas. Premio García Huerta. Trofeo Nezahuacóyotl 1971 otorgado por la sogem. La Editorial Diana le entregó La Diana de Oro por su éxito durante más de 25 años. Obtuvo seis trofeos de la Asociación Cuba de la Crónica Radial Impresa, ocho medallas de oro y dos de plata de la Asociación de Anunciantes de Cuba. Sus novelas han sido llevadas al cine y televisión, principalmente, han sido adapatadas a telenovelas, en México y Latinoamerica, las cuales han alcanzado gran popularidad.

She was born in Villahermosa, Tabasco, on January 14, 1904; she died in Mexico City on August 1, 1990. A novelist and poet, she lived in Cuba from 1936 to 1960. She studied at the University of Puerto Rico. She hosted the program “La Novela al Aire” (The Novel on Air), for which she adapted classic, romantic, and popular novels; she was a reporter for El Universal and Excélsior. She was a member of the Mexican Women’s Athenaeum. As an actress, she belonged to the theater companies of Virginia Fábregas and María Tereza Montoya. She contributed to Novedades and Revista de Revistas. She received the García Huerta Prize and the 1971 Nezahualcóyotl Trophy awarded by SOGEM (Mexican Society of Authors and Composers). Editorial Diana presented her with the Diana de Oro for her success over more than 25 years. She received six trophies from the Cuban Association of Radio and Print Journalism, eight gold medals and two silver medals from the Cuban Advertisers Association. Her novels have been adapted for film and television, primarily as telenovelas in Mexico and Latin America, achieving great popularity.
