From Famous Women: An Outline of Feminine Achievement Through the Ages With Life Stories of Five Hundred Noted Women. Written by Joseph Adelman, published 1926 by Ellis M Lonow Company:
Emily Dickinson, an American poet, born at Amherst, Mass. She lived a secluded life and published almost nothing during her lifetime.

IW note: It is believed that Emily was in love with her sister-in-law, Susan Gilbert Dickinson, throughout her life.
