Nació en Torreón, Coahuila, el 2 de mayo de 1928; muere en la Ciudad de México, el 1º de diciembre de 2008. Poeta. Estudió en la Normal. Fue profesora en la UV, la UAEM, la UNAM, la SOGEM y la Normal Superior del Estado de México y coordinó talleres literarios del INBA en Aguascalientes, Torreón, Tlaxcala y la Ciudad de México. En 1994 el Conaculta, el SCM, el Ayuntamiento de Torreón y el ICOCULT crearon el Certamen Nacional de Poesía Enriqueta Ochoa. Sus poemas han sido traducidos al inglés, francés, alemán y japonés. Miembro del SNCA desde 1999. Le fue otorgada La Paca de Oro 1979 como Hija Predilecta de Coahuila. Medalla de Bellas Artes 2008.
She was born in Torreón, Coahuila, on May 2, 1928, and died in Mexico City on December 1, 2008. A poet, she studied at the Normal School. She taught at the University of Veracruz (UV), the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Mexican Society of Writers (SOGEM), and the Higher Normal School of the State of Mexico. She also coordinated literary workshops for the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) in Aguascalientes, Torreón, Tlaxcala, and Mexico City. In 1994, the National Council for Culture and the Arts (Conaculta), the Mexican Society of Writers (SCM), the Torreón City Council, and the Coahuila Institute of Culture (ICOCULT) established the Enriqueta Ochoa National Poetry Contest. Her poems have been translated into English, French, German, and Japanese. She was a member of the National System of Creators of Art (SNCA) since 1999. She was awarded the Golden Paca in 1979 as a Favorite Daughter of Coahuila and received the Fine Arts Medal in 2008.
