Geraldine Holm Hoch (1924-1973) graduated in chemistry and maths from SW Missouri State College (1943) and took additional courses in electronics and aviation stress analysis, for her wartime and postwar process electro-chemical engineering work in aviation at Pratt & Whitney, Northrop Grumman, Bendix Corporation, the Midwest Research Institute and Lockheed Martin. She was the only chemical engineer in Northrop’s team designing the Snark missile and worked on corrosion prevention systems for the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar and Boeing 747.
