Isabelle Laure Gatti de Gamond was a Belgian educationalist, feminist, and politician.
In 1864, she started the first systematic courses of secondary female education known as “Cours d’Éducation pour jeunes filles,” with financial help from the city council. Notably, this initiative was separate from the Roman Catholic Church and introduced organized secular education for women in Belgium.
