Liza Lehmann, an English musical composer and vocalist, born in London. There, in 1885, she made her début at the Monday Popular Concerts, and met with remarkable success as a concert singer. In 1894 she married Herbert Bedford and devoted herself to composition.
Her most successful and popular work is the song cycle In a Persian Garden, the words taken from the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyan, the music consisting of a connected group of solos and part songs.
This work of Liza Lehmann is remarkably beautiful and effective interpretation of the famous poem.
