Pam Muñoz Ryan has written more than 40 books for young people of all ages. Several of her novels have won multiple literary prizes. “Echo” received both the Newbery Honor Medal (2016) and the Kirkus Prize (2015), in addition to other honors. Her award-winning works also include “The Dreamer,” “Esperanza Rising” and “Riding Freedom.” Her latest novel, “Mañanaland” (Scholastic), has a fictional setting but examines the very real issue of help for the needy and the dispossessed.
