Sarah Batiza Berckowipz escribió cuentos y novelas. Estudió mecanografía y taquigrafía en la escuela Miguel Lerdo de Tejada. Algunos de sus cuentos fueron publicados en el Magazine Dominical de El Universal. Su primera novela, Nosotras, las taquígrafas, fue premiada en el Certamen Cultural de los Talleres Gráficos de la Nación en 1949. Un año después fue adaptada al cine por Alfonso Patiño Gómez, producida por Salvador Elizondo y dirigida por Emilio Gómez Muriel. Ingresó a la Sociedad General de Escritores de México (sogem) el 30 de agosto de 1966.
Sarah Batiza Berckowipz wrote short stories and novels. She studied typing and shorthand at the Miguel Lerdo de Tejada School. Some of her short stories were published in the Sunday Magazine of El Universal newspaper. Her first novel, Nosotras, las taquígrafas (We, the Shorthand Women), won an award at the National Printing Workshops’ Cultural Competition in 1949. A year later, it was adapted into a film by Alfonso Patiño Gómez, produced by Salvador Elizondo, and directed by Emilio Gómez Muriel. She joined the General Society of Writers of Mexico (SOGEM) on August 30, 1966.
