Wendy Weeks was born in Melbourne in 1943 and educated at the University of Melbourne. She studied and worked in Canada in the 1970s and early 1980s, returning to Australia in 1982. From 1991, she was a senior lecturer and later associate professor of Social Work at the University of Melbourne. In 2005, she was posthumously added to the Victorian Honour Roll of Women. She died in 2004.
