Dorothy Anstee worked in various nursing positions at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, from 1961-1977. In 1977 she became director of nursing at the Austin Hospital, Victoria, a position she held until 1995. Anstee was appointed Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1993 for service to nursing, particularly as director of nursing at the Austin hospital.
