Margaret Lang undertook her nursing training at the Wangaratta District Hospital, Victoria and the Women’s Hospital, Melbourne. She was matron of various Victorian country hospitals. Lang served in the Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS) during the First World War and was founder and Matron-in-Chief of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Nursing Service during the Second World War. Other positions held by Lang include Matron of the Talbot Epileptics Colony in Clayton, Victoria and Matron of the Police Hospital Victoria.
