Dora Sion Amir was the anchor of her family. She came to the U.S. from Salonica Greece c. 1916. She worked in the clothing manufacturing industry and helped support her family financially and in every other way. When she died in 1969 her entire extended family truly understood her life and value which is felt to this day.
She was most proud of having come to this country (which she loved) and have a family that thrived.
She is best remembered for her loving personality and indomitable spirit that picked up everyone she came into contact with.
She was of Sephardic Jewish heritage.
