In 1907, Rosalind Pitt-Rivers, a prominent British biochemist who made groundbreaking contributions to endocrinology, was born in London. In 1952, along with Jack Gross, she discovered the thyroid hormone triiodothyronine (T3), a pivotal discovery in understanding thyroid function and its impact on human health. Pitt-Rivers’ research significantly advanced the medical community’s knowledge of hormone regulation and thyroid disease.
